The Team
Merv Taylor, President, is a native Houstonian. Graduating from Texas A & M, he then spent two years in the US Army, retired after 21 years in the insurance business and founded Suzy’s in 1996. Married 1966, he has two children and four grandchildren. A member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Pearland, TX since 1975 and is currently serving as Treasurer.
Jim Lawless, Vice President, born in Topeka, Kansas, he graduated from Central High School in Rapid City, South Dakota and attended Hutchison Technical College for NDT & Metallurgy. In 2000, he started driving and received his training at Suzy’s Express, Inc., received his Class A CDL with Hazmat and went on to become the General Manager of Suzy’s Express where he took on the responsibility of managing the regulations, DOT Compliance, and Auditing. He is now serving as Vice President of Suzy’s Express, Inc.
Patricia Karnes, Office Manager, is from Pasadena, Texas. She is a graduate of Pasadena High School and the Interactive Learning System with certification in Accounting and Automated Office Systems. She has been with Suzy’s Express since 2005 and is now the Office Manager.
Denise Rangel, Customer Service/Safety and Compliance Coordinator, is a resident of Houston, TX and has been associated with Suzy’s Express, Inc. since 2008. She attended Pearland High school and San Jacinto College.She is currently our Safety and Compliance Coordinator as well as one of our Freight Coordinators in Suzy's Freight Brokerage and is dedicated to outstanding customer service.
Monique Ramirez, Customer Service, is from Pasadena, TX. A recent graduate of Pasadena High School Class of 2011. She has been with Suzy’s Express since 2010 and is pursuing her education to enter into the accounting field.
DJ Sayers, Customer Service/Dispatch, is a native of Houston, TX. He graduated from Klein Forest High School and then attended Blinn College in Brenham, Texas. He began his career as a driver where he gained 15 years experience in HOT SHOT Delivery. He has been affiliated with Suzy’s Express, Inc. since 2011 and is now currently the dispatcher.
Robert Renick, Mechanic, born in Killen, Texas, raised in Houston, Texas. For five years he drove as an owner operator for Suzy’s Express, Inc. Since 2007, he has been managing Suzy’s In Bond Freight Services, Inc. (SIBFS) where he is an experienced mechanic and offers roadside assistance and truck/trailer repairs. He also manages Suzy’s RMR, and is responsible for home repairs and remodeling. Robert has been with Suzy’s Express since 2003.
